In July, I moved away from my incredibly busy, overworked, tight-knit group of family & friends back to my original family home in rural Idaho.

It takes SO much adjusting. I’m shocked at the number of subscriptions, food, and caffeine that it took for me to make it through the city life. I’ve shed expenses, stress, expectations & even some weight.

The whole thing isn’t ideal. I’m a social person and love being in the center of things. Here, the Internet is slow as hell and my cell phone service barely works so long distance phone calls aren’t possible.

Im finding the benefits though in focusing on my writing & creative career.

Thank you for this piece, Erika! I relate to so much of your experiences described here :)
